The Jacksons' beautiful and durable handmade jute "word bags" are a joyful result of a design collaboration between Louise and skilled artisans in southwestern Bangladesh. The partnership began in 2012, and The Jacksons now work closely with over 5000 women in Bangladesh, in an area where there are few job opportunities for them. We do more than design and create a brand: We strive to overcome poverty and improve the social status of women. Through this dynamic collaboration, they now have access to free medical care and schools. Our women are paid directly, giving them independence and status and empowering them to make decisions within the family. A large percentage educate their daughters up to sixth grade, and some go on to university. Six years ago, this was impossible, and Louise visits us regularly to see firsthand the real benefits.
