WHO IS VIRGINIE?
Virginie de Vinster is unconventional. She neither attended a fashion school nor worked for renowned fashion houses. Her own university was Africa, where she worked for 15 years. She received her training while traveling through the Sahel, the Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo and Ghana.
In Africa, Virginie began observing weavers and dyers. She strolled through markets and browsed stores full of colorful fabrics. She was always fascinated by the incredible creativity of the artisans and the urban cultures of West Africa. Her travels in the bush also showed her the slowness of time, the art of listening to others, the symbolic power of things, conviviality and the passing on of values. The adventurous Virginie also explored India and Southeast Asia, Peru and the Andes. There she observed different professions, customs and people.
